'Most visitors have been very positive about the 'Miljökrukan' explains Owe Dahlqvist of Hörnhems htrg AB in Kristianstad, Sweden. 'The sceptical ones do not believe the pots can be dealt with on automatic pot suspenders, or have the opinion that the Swedish market cannot take the price increase associated with 'Miljökrukan'.

At Hörnhems this has been the second season were all plant material has been transplanted into the Miljökrukan and, by taking all the necessary measurements on plant behavoiour as well as plant growth, it has been clearly proven that the end result of the product grown in a 'Miljøkrukan', is of the same quality as a crop grown in a conventional plastic container.

At the open house many different crops were displayed in the Miljökrukan. In regards of the quality of the crop, there was absolutely nothing to hide!!

Hörnhems also has performed outside trials, planting plant material grown in Miljökrukan as well as plants grown in plastic containers out in beds. The results have been extremely positive and showed the benefits of this type of container convincing even to the most sceptical grower. The planting trials also showed the undeniable potential on labour saving associated with Miljökrukan when compared to a plastic container. Tests performed in the USA and Canada over the past years with this type of container have proven labour saving by professional landscaper crews of up to 27%

'The Garden Center chains and Retail Chains approached, have responded nothing but positive, taking todays consumers vieuw on topics such as environment and sustainability into consideration' he says.

Miljökrukan is part of the 'Speedypot family', produced by Jiffy. It is a 100% certified compostable plant container. The Speedypot was recently nominated to receive a certificat of Merit on the upcoming HortiFair 2010 in Amsterdam the Netherlands because of its innovative, environmental sound plant container concept.
