JIffy to increase production at Canadian plant

Jiffy Products NB ltd, based in Shippagan, New Brunswick Canada started preparing for what eventually will lead to an increase of production by about 40%.

As customers  globally are looking for Bio based solutions, the 'old' Jiffy pot, produced at the plant is alive and well and has been given an upgrade well received in the international market.

The professional greenhouse grower is looking for bio-based solutions to grow its plants in a more sustainable way. There has been a renewed interest in the Jiffypot over the past years, now available in a 'Speedypot' version.

The ’Speedypot’ is a Jiffypot dressed in a colourfull coat, making it very suitable to be used as a retail container. (info sheet here)

 

Not only the professional grower is using Jiffy pots, the bio container is also widely used by the North American home gardener and available in many sizes in the different seed starting kits available at all major retailers throughout the North American continent.

Due to the renewed interest in bio-containers worldwide, Jiffy has committed to increase production of bio-containers worldwide. The production capacity at the New Brunswick plant stands to increase with 40% over the next year, welcome news for the region as many new jobs will be created in the process.
